Education and health care are two foundational pillars that significantly influence individual lives and societal progress. As the world evolves—through technological advancements, globalization, and shifting socio-economic dynamics—the roles of education and health care become even more critical. The Saint Louis Nursing College, a private educational institution has reached 4 decades of successful experiences in offering nursing program for Thai society since 1985. Saint Louis Nursing College was changed the status to be the Saint Louis College on November 26, 1999, expanding its academic programs into additional fields. Currently, Saint Louis College offers undergraduate programs in three faculties: the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Psychology, and the Faculty of Physical Therapy. Additionally, it provides a Master of Nursing Science program specializing in Nursing Administration.
Given the rapid and unpredictable global changes, Saint Louis College (SLC) has advanced its educational management by integrating modern technology and preparing students to navigate the ever-evolving Thai and global societies to meet the ever-changing needs of health care industries nationally and internationally. The education programs are particularly relevant in addressing critical challenges such as environmental issues, global health concerns, aging populations, emerging and re-emerging diseases, and natural disasters. The SLC continuously reviews its educational role, recognizing its influence in shaping graduates into global citizens who are knowledgeable, ethical, and capable of withstanding moral challenges and societal pressures driven by consumerism. It aims to produce well-rounded individuals who are not only intelligent and skilled but also virtuous and courageous, enabling them to maintain a balanced and healthy life in an increasingly complex world.
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Saint Louis College's organizing committee has decided to organize an academic conference to explore how health care and education sectors contribute to personal empowerment, economic growth, and social stability. This event will also serve as a platform for health care professional, scholars, educators, and experts in higher education and theology to exchange knowledge, review educational models and objectives, and discuss the roles of health care professional, educators and learners in ensuring that education effectively meets both individual, health care industry, and global societal needs.
As we are well-aware, in an ever-changing world, education and health care serve as vital instruments of empowerment, economic growth, and social stability. Investing in these sectors not only enhances individual lives but also fosters resilient communities and nations. We, therefore, would like to invite you to participate in this important event, to discuss, to share your experiences, and to contribute your knowledge and join us in navigating future challenges, prioritizing education and health care as essential factors of manpower development, building a sustainable and equitable world.
